GREENVILLE, SC – Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County, in keeping with its recently adopted environmentally friendly focus, will hold its annual fundraising event Aug. 9 at the Fluor Field at the West End from 4-7 p.m.   Habitat is pleased to have corporation sponsors: The Spinx Company, AFL Telecommunications, Elliott Davis, Ford Motor Credit, Wasteco and Cloth Bags 4 Greenville.   Attendees will be treated to a relaxing, fun-filled evening featuring catering by The Hyatt Regency, silent and live auctions, dedicated environmentalist and entertainment by Monty Craig Solo Jazz Guitar and Avery Doolittle DNA Music.  Children will enjoy face-painting, inflatables, hands-on “eco” crafts, ball bins, Characters-In-Motion with Dora the Explorer, Sponge Bob, Pooh, Barney, and Elmo in addition to autographs from celebrity athletes and more.  The first 100 children receive a FREE Habitat Future Builder Apron. Homes built by volunteers and Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County, embrace the “Raise the Roof & Make it Green” theme, by building EarthCraft™ certified and Energy Starâ qualified homes.  These homes showcase energy and resource-efficient designs and promote ways in which to keep the Greenville community clean and beautiful.            Habitat believes that affordable housing is prohibitive if our homeowners cannot afford their home costs.  Building homes with a “green” focus promotes financial savings to the homeowner because it offers more cost effective measures for heating, cooling and water conservation. Children 12 and under FREE.  Tickets are $20 for adults ($25 at the door.  Help Habitat promote “green” in Greenville by making reservations now.  “Save our land-fill and bring old cell phones.”  No Drive game will be played during this event.             Advance tickets may be purchased PayPal at www.habitatgreenville.org or e-mailing Jan Howard, Director of Development for Habitat, jan@hfhgreenville.org  864-370-4787, ext. 39.
